The Russian Red Army & Navy Choir Orchestra and Dance Ensemble ("Les Choeurs et Ballets des Marins de L'Armee Rouge", "Coro, Orchestra e Balletto folkloristico dell’Armata Rossa", "Marinechor der Russischen Ostseeflotte") is one of the oldest military artistic groups in Russia. It was founded in 1939 in Leningrad (nowadays Saint-Petersburg).
The founders and the first chiefs of The Red Army & Navy Ensemble are the artistic director, professor of the Leningrad conservatory, composer O.S.Chishko, a chorus supervisor A.A.Melihov, the chief of an orchestra M.O.Polyanskiy, the dancemaker V.M.Chabukiani.
 January 12, 1940 in Kronstadt the first concert of The Red Army & Navy Choir Orchestra and Dance Ensemble was held in the hall of the House of Naval fleet.
Since 1939 till 1946 The Red Army & Navy Ensemble was situated in Leningrad (1939-1940, 1941-1944) and in Tallin (1940, 1944-1946), during 1946-1948 - in Palminikken, during 1948-1953 - in Klaipeda. Since 1953 till the present time The Ensemble is based in Kaliningrad.
Per heavy years of Great Patriotic war (1941-1945) the personal structures of The Red Army & Navy Choir Orchestra and Dance Ensemble participated in a heroic defense of Moondzundskie islands. Together with the ships of the Baltic fleet The Red Army & Navy Ensemble broke from Tallin to Leningrad. All 900 days of blockade of Leningrad it was in the city, acting for the inhabitants and on an advanced. During the years of Great Patriotic war The Red Army & Navy Choir Orchestra and Dance Ensemble has given about 2.500 concerts. One third of actors perished by death of brave.
